Art & Design Week ‘Imaginarium’02-Sep-2024

The Art & Design Week, titled ‘Imaginarium,’ at Unison World School was a dynamic celebration of creativity and innovation, showcasing a variety of interactive workshops conducted by talented artists.This week-long event, held from August 27th to September 2nd, 2024, included a variety of art forms such as linocut printing, natural eco-printing, applique stitching, and dokra casting. Linocut Printing Workshop The linocut printing workshop, conducted by Artist Ms. Megha Saxena, took place from August 27th to 31st. The workshop saw participation from 41 enthusiastic students who displayed remarkable dedication and enthusiasm in mastering this art form. Participants used lino sheets for engraving, lino tools for carving, rollers for applying ink, and A3 cartridge paper for the final prints. Dokra Casting Workshop Dokra casting, a traditional metal craft, was introduced to the students with the help of two skilled artists from Kolkata. The workshop provided students with hands-on experience in working with wax mediums and creating various dokra pieces. While students primarily observed the casting process, they thoroughly enjoyed learning from the traditional artists. Both students and teachers appreciated this unique experience. Stop Motion Animation Workshop Stop Motion Animation, including Pixilation and Clay Animation, was taught by Ms. Abhilasha Bhartiya and Mr. Swapnil Taank from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The workshop, which saw the participation of 26 students, covered character design, clay modeling, animation techniques, sound design, and post-production. The interactive and engaging nature of the workshop left a lasting impression on all participants. Applique Stitching Workshop Applique stitching, a technique for adding fabric patches to a base fabric, was explored by 28 students. The workshop, led by resource persons Sunita Tyagi and Ms. Simmi from Project Purkul, focused on upcycling through applique and patchwork techniques. With 20 years of experience, the instructors provided valuable insights, and students created beautiful textile pieces. Eco-Printing Workshop Eco-printing, or botanical printing, was introduced as an environmentally friendly technique for creating fabric designs using natural dyes and pigments. The workshop, conducted by Rajvi Vats and Manisha Sharma, saw enthusiastic participation from 38 girls. The session emphasized sustainability and circular economy concepts, reinforcing the importance of eco-friendly clothing practices.
